煙草在線據《太陽日報》報道編譯　　英美煙草馬來西亞公司常務董事Datuk William Toh Ah Wah說，由于消費者對電子卷煙產品的興趣慢慢增加，2012年12月收購了CN Creative公司的英美煙草公司，正在對電子卷煙市場進行探索。

　　他在英美煙草公司于4月17日舉行的股東年會后對記者說：“在全球范圍內，有跡象顯示，人們樂意嘗試電子卷煙，因此，英美煙草公司最近收購了一家位于英國的電子卷煙公司，這樣，我們就可以更好地了解這個業務部門。”

　　Datuk William Toh Ah Wah 說：“我們（英美煙草公司）還沒有向市場推出任何電子卷煙產品。我們剛剛收購了一家小公司，以嘗試和了解電子卷煙行業的跡象、特征和發展動態。”

　　“在適當的時候，當我們做好準備時，我們可能會進入我們認為具有電子卷煙消費發展潛力的國家市場。但在馬來西亞，我們目前還沒有計劃。”

　　CN Creative公司是一家位于英國的處于起步階段的公司。它專門從事非燃燒卷煙的開發與生產。這家公司有自己的研究與開發設施，在市場上已經有幾個電子卷煙產品。

Malaysia: BAT Exploring E-cigarette Potential

　　British American Tobacco Plc (BAT Plc), which acquired CN Creative Ltd in December last year, is exploring the e-cigarette market as interests in e-cigarette products pick up among consumers, said British American Tobacco (Malaysia) Bhd (BAT) managing director Datuk William Toh Ah Wah.

　　"Globally, there are signs that people are willing to try out e-cigarettes and as a result, BAT Plc had recently acquired an e-cigarette company based in the UK (CN Creative) so that we can better understand this segment of the business," he told reporters after BAT's AGM yesterday.

　　"We (BAT Plc) have not launched any e-cigarette products in the market yet. We have just bought a small company to try and understand the signs, the characteristics and dynamics of e-cigarettes.

　　"In due course when we're ready, we will probably enter the e-cigarette market in countries where we believe there are potential for e-cigarette consumption. But in Malaysia, we have no plans at the moment," said Toh.

　　CN Creative is a UK based start-up company which specialises in the development and production of non-combustible cigarettes. The company has its own research and development facilities and has several e-cigarette products on the market. Enditem
