Altadis U.S.A. is releasing a limited-edition humidor packed with high-scoring Dominican Montecristos. The numbered Montecristo Collector Series Humidors are being released immediately following the TAA Meeting & Convention in La Romana, Dominican Republic—where the non-Cuban Montecristos are made—which takes place from October 24 to 28.

The cigar-filled case retails for $5,000, which includes the humidor and 135 various smokes. It’s an attractive yellow container with Montecristo’s logo and name on the top lip, gold-plated “Montecristo” locks and the logo prominently displayed on the front of the box. The branded humidor also has a magnetic top lip, removable cedar trays and gold-plated hinges. It measures 13 1/2 inches wide, 29 inches long and 8 inches high.

Inside the new humidor are separate compartments for three different Montes: the White Series, Classic Series and Platinum Series. Each line will have its own separate compartments within the humidor for different vitolas: the Rothchilde which measures 5 by 52, Toro at 6 by 54 and No. 2 at 6 1/8 by 52.

All three smokes differ considerably in strength. The White Series, which is the mildest, has an Ecuador Connecticut wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan filler. More medium bodied, the Montecristo Classic Series features a Connecticut shade wrapper over Dominican binder and filler, while the Platinum Series—the strongest of the three—has a Nicaraguan wrapper, Dominican binder and mix of Dominican, Nicaraguan and Peruvian filler.

Additionally, on the inside of the top lid are two Boveda packet holders, which serve as the humidification system.

Only 100 of the Montecristo Collector Series Humidors will be available, so fans of the iconic brand should be ready to order come October 29.
