When Tony Barrios founded Stallone Cigars in 2014, he decided to combine his two passions: cigars and cowboys, specifically horses, and the Cowboy Series was born. For those unfamiliar with the brand, Stallone translates to “stallion” in Italian, and each line in the Cowboy Series is named after a specific breed of horse. The color of each wrapper is intended to match the color of the horse’s natural coat. Now, Stallone is adding another size to the stable with a new limited-edition cigar called Clydesdale, and retailers can expect the cigar on November 1.

The Clydesdale is a massive, well-muscled breed of horse that is distinguished by shaggy long hair on the lower legs. Its cigar counterpart is a massive grande measuring 6 ? inches by 60 ring gauge, complete with a shaggy foot. The cigars have a suggested retail price of $11.95 each.

Made at the Tabacalera Las Villas factory in Nicaragua, Clydesdale is a Nicaraguan puro, and features a Connecticut broadleaf seed planted in Nicaragua for the wrapper. Barrios told Cigar Aficionado that all of the tobacco leaves have been aged for five years before rolling and then aged for an additional year after rolling.?

According to the company, the blend is full bodied.

Production of Clydesdale will be limited to 1,000 boxes of 20 cigars. Depending on the consumer response, Barrios told Cigar Aficionado that the cigar may make a return in the future.
